This overview has been created to take you through the set up process of your Make Your Day storefront. Please follow the guide in the order outlined to ensure correct set up of your account.

Step one: Edit Your Settings

Before adding your products, please make sure your storefront, business documents, payment setup, and shipping options are all completed. 

1. Store

Please add a business banner image, your logo, business name and select the category/categories your business sits under – this is the information customers will see on your storefront. All other information asked for is not required.

2. Payment

Please connect to our payment system Stripe, you will need to set up an account if you don’t already have one. All payments will be made through this system.

3. Verification

We require documentation of your business address to ensure you are based in the UK. Please add a caopy of this to this section for approval.

4. Shipping

Before adding products, you need to confirm your shipping costs. Currently, we offer shipping to the UK, Isle of Man, and Jersey.

Setting Up Shipping Methods

You’ll need to add your “shipping methods” and set the rates. These rates will populate across your product range, allowing you to select the relevant delivery cost for each item.

To Add a Shipping Method:

Go to Settings > Shipping in your dashboard.

There are three types of shipping methods. We recommend only setting up a flate rate or a table rate, but not both. Free shipping can be used on it’s own if offering universal free shipping, or you can use it in additiona if you want to set a minimum spend before free shipping is applied.

• Flat rate: Use this if you offer one shipping class only, such as 2nd class postage, for different sized packages. To set up flat rate shipping follow these instructions.
• Table rate: Use this is you offer multiple shipping rates for different sized packages. To set up table rate shipping follow these instructions.
• Free shipping: You can set free shipping for all of your products or create rules on minimum spend rules etc. To set free rate shipping follow these instructions.

Note: We have created “shipping classes” based on common letter and parcel sizes as defined by Royal Mail. Refer to the table below, “Royal Mail Delivery Costs and Shipping Classes,” for guidance on setting prices.

Step two: Upload products

1. Adding a product manually

There are two options for uploading your products:

1. Simple Product: These types of products are simple and have no variants such as sizes, or pack sizes. They are single and standalone product, which does not require any other information to define different variants and prices. Follow this tutorial on how to set up a simple product.
2. Variable Product: A variable product is a product that has different types of variants. For example, you might want to sell a dress that is available in 3 different colours and sizes. So this option will enable you to add the colours and sizes you need. You can add variations based on anything you like, perhaps the pack size or the page sizes. Follow this tutorial on how to set up a variable product.

2. Bulk importing products

You can import bulk products by uploading a CSV file. There are instructions on the dashboard along with an example CSV file. You can also use this function to make bulk changes to your products as long as they have an ID or SKU.
